Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
Other Services
For subsurface spaces that typical laser scanning can’t reach, our team can perform a survey using Leica GPR devices to map utilities and objects under the ground. This can be supplemented with record drawings or other tools, such as reality capture methods, to get a clear picture of existing site conditions. Surveying can be performed in any weather condition and at inactive sites without impacting construction operations. We perform on-site surveying operations, data mapping/identification, and georeferencing for every site condition for an effective depth of up to 16.5 feet.

Our GPR services include the following tasks:
-
Utility Locating
-
Historical site documentation and detailing
-
Existing condition reports

What is Ground Penetrating Radar?

GPR is a geophysical method that involves sending out electromagnetic signals into the ground and measuring/mapping the reflected signals into an “image” of what the subsurface layout looks like. Depending on their differing dielectric properties, this provides details such as material and depth for objects underground.
